Stop the Violence Mom

Mothers United for Healing, Hope, and Change

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a safe, loving sisterhood for mothers who have lost a child to violence. We honor our children by name, support one another through grief without judgment, and stand together to stop the violence in our streets. We are committed to healing, advocacy, education, and community action – so no other mother has to walk this road alone.

Our Pledge – To Each Other

To be read aloud together in a circle

We pledge to hold one another in love, without judgment.

We pledge to honor every child by name and keep their memory alive.

We pledge to listen when one is weak and speak when one cannot.

We pledge to protect the privacy and pain shared in this circle.

We pledge to turn our pain into purpose and our grief into action.

We pledge to stand together to stop the violence in Buffalo and beyond.

We pledge that no mom in this group will ever grieve alone.

Initiatives

Support Group Moms Group. Buffalo residents lack enough no-cost peer-led evening support options for grief. This group fills that gap with monthly meetings that provide structured activities for coping with loss, in a supportive community of mothers, sisters and loved ones.

Calendar Honoring Our Children with Love, We Say Their Names. This calendar holds space for grief and joy, for memory and action. Each month we honor one of our angels, speak their name, and remember that love outlives everything.

Blanket Our Children, Our Forever Angels. Memorial blanket displaying photos of our children together, as a heartfelt tribute that honors our beloved children and affirms our connection to each other.

Buttons Say The Name.

Inspiration

Inspired by Sharon Tell who lost her beloved daughter Naja Jinnae White on April 17, 2026. Naja was 28 at the time.
