We are committed to providing educational services to the Buffalo and WNY communities whenever possible, in a variety of formats.
Summer Camp Trip
In July 2026 we provided full support for eight children to attend an overnight summer camp near Batavia, New York for seven days. The children were from low-income districts and would not have been able to attend a camp without this support. None had ever been to a summer camp before. The activities included horseback riding, swimming, and other sports. In addition to paying the camp tuition, Stop the Violence purchased all supplies the children needed including sleeping bags and swimsuits. This trip provided an opportunity for the children to experience and learn about nature, and to develop social skills and maturity in working and playing with others at the camp. It was an exciting and educational experience for all.
Radio Program
Executive Director Murray Holman hosts a talk radio program called Voice Your Opinion Mondays at 12:30pm on WUFO 1080AM 96.5FM. Residents of Buffalo call in to the program to discuss any issues going on in our city.
Events
We hold open events that provide information and support to the community.
- Upcoming Street Campaign: Summer of 2026. We will share information on establishing and maintaining healthy relationships and communication between parents and youth children. This campaign is a collaboration with other community organizations, to share information about resources and services available.
- We held a forum in January 2025 with representatives from law enforcement, social services and other local organizations. It featured and inspirational guest speakers and shared information on resources and job opportunities.
- We hold conflict resolution classes as needed.
- We have held weekly meetings for youth that included round-table discussions with guest speakers and covered topics such as effective communication and saying no to drugs.
- We have held social events including a bowling night focused on anti-violence and outdoor summer movie nights in a Buffalo park.
All of our events are free for the community to attend.

Individual Support
We work with youth individually as well, connecting them with resources and services as needed. We work with partner agencies in the Buffalo area who refer youth to coalition programs and services.
Impact
Approximately 175 youth participated in programs and services in 2025.
